Employment Law Overview

AMERICANS WORKING OVERSEAS

The Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) prohibits a United States Corporation or its subsidiaries from discriminating against a United States citizen working for it in a foreign country. If you are an executive stationed oversees we will evaluate your situation and make recommendations. Sometimes the host country's laws are more favorable than our own and in such cases we have referred clients to foreign attorneys.

There are cases also giving protection to oversees workers under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 against race and sex discrimination.

From our offices in the historic Penobscot Building in Detroit, Michigan, our firm has represented clients in the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
